David was appointed Managing Partner in May 2014 having joined O’Neill Foley in 2000. Previously David worked as a Senior Manager with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC). Following this he established an accountancy practice in 1995, which subsequently merged with O’Neill Foley. Along with his fellow Partners, David led ONF’s strategic investment and relocation to the purpose built business district at Abbey Quarter, Kilkenny in May 2022. In addition to his many professional qualifications, David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a qualified Insolvency Practitioner.
Specialisms 

David heads the firm’s Business Restructurings and Insolvency Division and is a qualified Insolvency Practitioner. He is hugely experienced in advising companies and financial institutions/creditors in dealing with restructurings, Examinerships, Receiverships and Liquidations. In addition, Audit & Assurance and Taxation strongly feature in all aspects of the David’s work. David holds an Auditor Practicing Certification which allows him to lead the ONF team in providing a broad range of audit and accountancy services to the owner managed sector.”

Accomplishments 

David’s long standing business experience is hugely valued and respected by clients and by the wider business community. He also holds a number of board positions, one of which allows him to provide his expert knowledge in the regional airports and aviation sector. In addition to a full time professional career, Davis has preserved a lifetime interest in the Agri Food Sector both in his professional and personal capacity.

Education 

David was educated at Waterpark College Waterford, he holds an MBA from Wales University and Manchester Business School. Additionally, David holds Diplomas in Forensic Accounting and Personal Insolvency from the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Interesting Fact 

In his spare time David maintains a herd of Pedigree Aberdeen Angus livestock. Extending to 80, the Ballyloughmore Herd is based in Co. Waterford and is a recognised source of breeding stock in the South East.
