Declan manages clients’ relationships in business sectors such as civil engineering, retail, agri-business, financial services and horticulture. Declan specialises in advising clients on accountancy technology systems. He also oversees the firm’s growing Management Accounts department, which provides clients with tailored financial management accounts, allowing them to make timely and beneficial business decisions. In addition, Declan has responsibility for the firm’s internal audit department and for the maintenance of the firm’s statutory audit programmes. |
Accomplishments
As someone committed to excellent standards within in the accountancy profession, Declan held the role of assistant examiner with Chartered Accountants Ireland for 9 years and sat on the Accountants Advisory committee for SAGE. Declan has presented at numerous SAGE roadshows on such important topics as the impact and challenges of technology on accountancy firms. |

Brief info
Declan Murphy was appointed Audit and Accounts Partner in May 2021. Having joined O’Neill Foley from College to take up a career in the accountancy profession, Declan has over the years successfully progressed his career within the firm. In addition to his Audit and Assurance duties Declan also champions the role and benefits of technology to promote and drive efficiency for clients in how they manage their accounting and record keeping processes. Declan is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
